"There's a lot going on in the space," said Judy Kimball, a senior director of investor marketing at Yipit. Initial Data Offering launched last December, and its user base has grown rapidly, according to Ober. The site is simple — it's a place where data vendors can share new products, and data buyers can get in touch with sellers on items that interest them. Now, his side hustle is growing faster than he could have imagined, and he hopes to expand beyond the typical hedge fund crowd. Because this isn't Ober's day job, the build-out can be less about revenue and more about growing the community.

The NYT Connections game has players in an uproar. For those unfamiliar with the game, players are tasked with finding the connections between four groups of words. And the new-look emoji game has left some users confused and even a little angry when they went to play Connections. "nyt connections editor I am in your walls," one post read. And one person on X pointed out, "No one is forcing you to do the NYT connections, by the way."

It is also looking to hire a lawyer with a specialty in trade compliance to help Temu create a protocol for screening merchandise, another posting showed. The U.S. House Select Committee on the China Communist Party in May launched an investigation into retailers' connections to forced labor in China's Xinjiang region, including any efforts to comply with the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. The committee last week released preliminary findings stating that Temu "does not have any system to ensure compliance" with the act. Temu's 80,000 "suppliers agree to boilerplate terms and conditions that prohibit the use of forced labor," the report said. Rights groups accuse Beijing of abuses including forced labor and placing 1 million or more Uyghurs - a mainly Muslim ethnic group - in internment camps in Xinjiang.

LONDON, Dec 9 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Two rapid grocery delivery players are serving up an unappetising deal for their investors. Turkish company Getir, last valued at $11.8 billion in March, is gobbling up its German rival Gorillas. It values the target at $1.2 billion, a 60% cut to its last valuation acquired in last year’s funding round. It’s worst for Gorillas investors like Delivery Hero and Tencent (0700.HK), however. With an upcoming recession, they will have to hope that luxury grocery delivery services still have a future.
[1/4] A delivery worker sorts parcels at a makeshift logistics station ahead of Alibaba's Singles' Day shopping festival, following the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak in Shanghai, China, November 10, 2022. The Singles Day shopping festival, which despite its name has evolved into a multi-week event, is a key barometer of Chinese retail demand. But Citi predicts rival e-commerce giant JD.com (9618.HK), which also holds a Singles Day shopping event, to fare somewhat better as it is strong in consumer electronics and home appliance offerings which are expected to remain popular. Singles Day has also had contend with the absence of one its two live-streaming mega sales gurus, Viya, who has been offline since being fined for tax evasion. "Alibaba has tried to make (the event) less about just dropping prices," said Mark Tanner, chief executive of Shanghai-based consultancy, China Skinny.
